Another inexpensive inkjet all in one form Cannon, the Canon Pixma MP495 is a good option for its functionality, design and ease of use.
While the Canon Pixma MP495 comes with an enhanced 4800 dpi print resolution, the print quality can be a bit poor at times. For those with regular printing needs, this will be a slight damper. The color printouts can have missing colors in solid colour areas The scanner comes with a 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution and the scan results are good. The print speeds range from 8.8 ppm for black to 5 ppm for coloured printouts. A fun photo print would take more than 1.5 minutes which could be painful at times. The startup takes about 15 seconds which adds to a long first copy out time of over 20 seconds. For all its functionality, this is a very compact printer and lightweight too. This comes with 2 Canon Pixma MP495 ink cartridges, a pigment based black and dye based tri-colour cartridge.
While this is being claimed a an image printer, it only supports WiFi and lacks SD card or direct print from mobile phones. The various LEDs get a lot of job done, though a direct photocopy option would have been useful.

If the usage is more school projects and office documents , then Canon Pixma MP495 comes as a good option. It is good for intermittent usage as a printer, scanner and copier. However if the usage is more image oriented then the results will be far from impressive.

How to Install FINE Cartridges for your Canon Pixma MP495 printer?
Several printing issues might occur if one is using old, dried out or faulty Canon Pixma MP495 ink cartridges. There are various points that one must keep in mind while installing the new cartridges for their printer.
Step 1: Lift the Scanning unit (cover) and fix it with the scanning unit support.
Step 2: The FINE Cartridge holder should move to the installation position. If the FINE Cartridge holder does not move, make sure that the machine is turned on. For details, refer to online guide available
Step 3: Follow the next procedure to insert the black and colour Canon Pixma MP495 ink Cartridges into their corresponding slots.
Note: When opening the scanning unit (cover), the FINE Cartridge holder automatically moves out.
Step 4: Open the ink cartridge locking cover given on the right side. Pinch it firmly and pull up the cover
Step 5: After removing the black FINE Cartridge from its box, pull the orange protective tape in the direction of the arrow given and remove it carefully by following the guidelines from manual
Note:
- Handle the Canon Pixma MP495 ink Cartridges carefully. Do not drop or apply excessive pressure to insert them
- Be careful not to stain your hands or surrounding work area with ink on the removed protective tape
- Do not touch the metal parts of the FINE Cartridges. The machine may not print properly if you touch them
Step 6: Place the black FINE Cartridge into the right slot. Do not knock the cartridge against the sides of the holder.
Step 7: Push down the ink cartridge locking cover until you hear a click to close it completely. View the ink cartridge locking cover straight on and check that it is locked correctly.
Step 8: Insert the colour FINE cartridge into the left cartridge holder in the same way as the black FINE cartridge.
Step 9: Make sure the LED changes after inserting the cartridges properly. It may take about 90 seconds for the first time to lit the led.
Note:
- Once you have installed the FINE Cartridges, do not remove them unnecessarily
- If the Alarm lamp lights orange, this ensure that the cartridges are correctly installed
- The LED will turn off if the machine is not operated for about 5 minutes. To restore the display, press any button except the ON button
