HP LaserJet Pro M252dw Printer Review & Troubleshoot:

How to resolve “Install black cartridge” error message that is displayed on HP LaserJet Pro M252dw?

The error message indicates that the black HP LaserJet Pro M252dw toner cartridge is not installed, not compatible, or some obstruction is preventing the cartridge from being recognized. To prevent this message from displaying, use the following steps:

Step 1: HP recommends to use good-quality toner supplies. Low-quality or refilled cartridges does not guarantee the print quality or reliability.

Step 2: Check the toner cartridge and printer for any packing materials which might be causing the problem.

  • Turn off the HP printer and disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Now open the toner cartridge door and look for any packing material such as tape, cardboard, or paper debris. If you find any of these, remove them.
  • Remove the old HP LaserJet Pro M252dw toner cartridge.
  • If you find any packing material or paper debris inside the toner cartridge area, remove them.
  • Remove the orange tab and the protective sealing tape on the toner cartridge.
  • To make sure that the toner is distributed evenly, rock the toner cartridge from front to back.
  • Install the new HP LaserJet Pro M252dw toner cartridge and close the cartridge door.
  • At last, reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

Step 3: Check for any jammed paper inside your printer.

Step 4: Clean the electric contacts of the cartridge.

Step 5: Reset the printer.

Step 6: If the error message still continues to display, contact the HP LaserJet service center.

What to do if the HP LaserJet Pro M252dw pages are slant or skewed?

In such conditions, follow the points mentioned below:

Step 1: When the HP printer papers are skewed, you need to make sure that the paper loaded in the input tray is properly arranged with the paper-width guides.

Step 2: If necessary, pull out the paper input tray and reload the pages in a proper manner (the paper guides should be aligned correctly).

Step 3: Load the pages in the printer, only when it’s not printing.
