My HP Officejet 6100 Eprinter is making some unexpected noises. What should I do to stop these noises?
The printer might make some unexpected noises. These are the servicing sounds that the printer makes while it performs automatic servicing functions in order to maintain the health of the printheads. To prevent the noise, perform following steps:
- Turn off the printer.
- Detach the power cable from the back of the printer.
- If the carriage moves to the center, or if the service station is lowered remove the HP Officejet 6100 ink cartridges. Check inside the printer for any broken parts.
- Close the top cover of your HP printer.
- Separate the rear access door or the automatic two-sided printing accessory. Now check for the paper jams or paper obstructions. Remove any paper block.
- Change the rear access door accessory or the automatic two-sided printing accessory. Close the top cover of the printer.
- Plug back the power cable.
- Power on the printer, and replace the HP Officejet 6100 ink cartridges if possible. If the carriage moves and there is still a grinding noise, there might be a paper feed issue. If the carriage does not move, then there is a carriage stall issue.
- Install the HP Officejet 6100 ink cartridge and if the product has a solid power light, perform a self-test on it.
- If the issue persists after completing all the preceding steps, service or change your HP product.
What should I do if the HP Officejet 6100 pages are slent or skewed?
Try the following solutions:
- When the HP printer papers are skewing, you must be sure that the paper you have loaded in the input tray is arranged properly to the paper-width guides.
- If necessary, pull out the paper input tray and reload the pages in a proper manner (the paper guides should be aligned properly).
- Load the pages into the printer, only when it’s not printing.
