What steps to be followed for replacing an ink cartridge of Epson XP-700 printer?
If your printer faces issues like blurred, dimmed or pixelated prints, prints with missing or incorrect resolutions then you must check your Epson XP-700 ink cartridges ink level. Printing with empty or faulty cartridges may lead to the above printing issues. To resolve such issues you must replace your old ink cartridge with the new one. Follow the steps mentioned below:
- Make sure you turn on the printer.
- Check the Ink level indication message on the LCD screen.
- If your Epson XP-700 ink cartridge is expended then it shows a message to indicate which colour of ink cartridge is required for replacement.
- If you're replacing the ink cartridge before checking the indication message on the LCD screen, select Setup > Ink Levels > Cartridge Replacement.
- Lift the scanner unit up and hold it with scanner unit support.
Caution: Do not move the print head with hands or touch the white cables otherwise it may damage your printer. - Press the blue tab for unlocking the ink cartridge you are replacing and then, remove it by lifting it from the bottom of the cartridge.
- Place the cap on the ink cartridge again and dispose it off carefully.
- If you are replacing the black ink cartridge, you need to shake it gently for five times before uncovering it. No need to shake the photo black cartridges.
- Unwrap the new Epson XP-700 ink cartridge carefully.
Caution: Avoid shaking the cartridge after unwrapping it otherwise it may leak. - Open the cartridge by removing its cap and store it in a plastic bag for further use.
- Now, inject the ink cartridges head into ink cartridge holder and press its bottom down until it fixes at the right place.
- If you have replaced all the cartridges that required a replacement just close the scanner down to begin the ink priming process. This would take a few minutes.
- Once the ink priming process is completed, you will see a completion message on the LCD screen.
Caution: Do not turn your printer off during the ink priming process otherwise you will waste ink.
