How to solve image quality problems in an HP LaserJet 3380 printer?
If you have recently bought an HP LaserJet 3380 printer and experiencing some image-quality problems. Then, don’t worry, this is a common issue that can be solved by following simple steps. Usually, these issues occur due to faulty HP LaserJet 3380 toner cartridges.
Follow these simple solutions to fix these kinds of issues:
Solution 1: Check the HP LaserJet 3380 toner cartridges:The most likely cause of image quality defects are the result of problems in the print cartridge. The problems can be solved by following these steps:
- Ensure that the print cartridge is locked properly
- Check the print cartridge to see if it has been disassembled or refilled
- Inspect the print cartridge to see if toner is leaking through worn seals
- Check the surface of the photosensitive drum in the cartridge to see if it has been damaged or scratched. Damaged drum can cause image quality issues
- Overexposure to light causes permanent damage to the photosensitive drum and result into blurry printouts. Replacing the toner cartridge might resolve these issues

Solution 2: Install a New Toner CartridgeBefore installing a new HP LaserJet 3380 toner cartridge, redistribute the toner by rotating the cartridge back and forth 4 to 5 times. If the print cartridge is out of toner, replace it. Follow the below steps:
- Lower down the paper feed and open the top cover. While you are doing it, make sure your printer is connected with the power cable
- Open the print-cartridge door
- Now gently shake the new print cartridge four to five times and then unpack it
- Make sure tape is removed from the new print cartridge
- Once you remove the packaging material properly from the cartridge, place it into the cartridge slot of the printer
Once the process is completed, make a test print on the paper you inserted earlier. If the printouts still are not satisfactory, then we would recommend you to contact HP support.
