How to reset the toner counter for Brother HL6180DW printer?

Cartridge recognition issues occur with compatible or genuine or the high yield Brother HL6180DW toner cartridges or maybe you just want to use the last few drops of toner for the cartridge. To reset the toner counter follow the procedure mentioned below:

• Open the front cover and keep it open throughout the process.
• Turn off the printer and hold the “go” button (or “start” button) while turning the printer on. Also, all panel lights should be on.
• Release the “go” button (or “start” button).
• Press the button again for two times.
• Pause. All panel lights should be on.
• Now, the toner light should be off. (The error light might be flashing)
• The paper light should be on or flashing.
• Close the cover now. Make sure that the ready light should be the only light on.

I just replaced Brother HL6180DW toner cartridges and the LCD continues to display the message “Toner Life End” or the toner LED is still on or flashing. What should I do now?

If the LED continues to show “Toner Life End” error indication after installing a new toner cartridge, please follow the below-listed steps:

• Just like the toner cartridge and the drum unit, Brother machines have similar consumables. Make sure that you did not replace the drum unit, but the toner cartridge.
• In order to reset the toner status, you must install a brand new and unused Brother HL6180DW toner cartridge.
• If you install a new genuine Brother toner cartridge but the error indication message remains, verify that you have installed the toner cartridge properly. Else, reinstall the toner cartridge.
• The problem might have occurred because the corona wire has become dirty. Clean the corona wire.
