How to get rid of the dots or repeating marks or streaks while using the Brother DCP-L2540DN toner cartridges?

If the printed document has dots or other repeating marks at 94 mm (3.7 in.) intervals, or streaks, the drum unit may have foreign material, such as glue from a label stuck on the drum surface. Follow the steps listed below to clean the drum unit.

• Open the front cover.
• Remove the toner cartridge and drum unit out of the printer.
• Push the green lock lever down and take the toner cartridge out of the drum unit.
• Turn the drum unit and make sure that the drum unit’s gear is on the left.
• Using both the hands, turn the edge of the drum unit toward you while looking at the surface of the suspected area.
• Wipe the surface of the drum unit gently with a dry cotton swab until the mark from the surface comes off.
• Put the toner cartridge firmly into the place until you hear it lock into the place.
• Install the toner Brother DCP-L2540DN toner cartridges and drum unit back into the machine.
• Close the front cover of the machine.

How to clean the corona wire?

• Open the front cover of the machine.
• Slightly pull the drum unit out until it stops by holding its green handle.
• Hold the handle of the toner cartridge and gently push it towards the machine until it unlocks.
• Pull out the drum and repeat the step for all the remaining cartridges.
• Release the latches of corona wire cover and open the corona wire cover.
• Gently slide the green tab from left to right and vice versa to clean the corona wire.
• Repeat the above step several times and close the corona wire cover.
• Do the same for the remaining corona wires.
• Slide the Brother DCP-L2540DN toner cartridges gently into the drum unit and pull it until it clicks into the place.
• Make sure to match the tone cartridge colour with the cartridge label colour.
• Repeat the steps for all the remaining cartridges.
• Push the drum unit until it fixes into the place.
