The Pixma MP620 is an all in one inkjet printer which aims to serve the needs of a small office and home environment. It intends to achieve this aim with good print quality, host of connectivity options and a stylish compact design.
This all-in-one comes with a printer which has a maximum monochrome resolution of 600 x 600 dpi and a colour print resolution of 9600 x 2400 dpi. The scanner also has a similar resolution in monochrome and colour prints, respectively. It has impressive print speeds of 26 ppm for black and white and 17 ppm for colour printing. The cooling speed can go up to 24 ppm for monochrome and 16 ppm for colour scans. There are total 5 Canon Pixma MP620 Ink Cartridges, 4 dye-based colour cartridges and 1 pigment-based black cartridge.
It has a lot of connectivity options like USB, WiFi and ethernet. It is also compatible with many different types of memory cards, like SD, MMC, SDHC, Memory Stick and more. The smartly designed pop-up LCD and control panel with 16 different buttons, controlling most of the important functions of this all in one.
The printer comes with some specific software meant to enhance the image print quality. However, duplex printing is a feature sorely missed. The automatic document feeder has a capacity of 150 sheets, but if the sheets are less than 30, then it sometimes does not recognise the paper. The capacity is average for a normal user, and along with the Canon Pixma MP620 Ink Cartridges that comes as individual units and can be refilled individually, the cost of printing is on the lower side.
Advantages:- Printing and scanning over network
- The copier can function standalone
- Very good high quality photos
- Does not support fax
- Installing the printer, especially the network part is cumbersome
Canon Pixma MP620 is a good entry level all in one, with better than average image printer. It is a small, stylish and compact unit which serve the needs of most small businesses and homes very well with its fast performance, multiple connectivity options and good performance. While duplex printing and fax capability would have added to the package, given the fact that fax is sparingly used these days, and manual duplex can be done, it still comes out to be a good buy.
