How to replace an ink cartridge in Epson XP-615?
Replacement of the cartridge is required when the ink is expended or is about to expire and the printouts are not appropriate. For replacing the cartridges follow the steps mentioned below:
Note: Ensure that the CD/DVD tray is not placed in the system, and the power light is turned on but is not flashing.
- For best print outputs, gently shake only the black colour ink cartridge for 4 to 5 times before opening it.
Note: It is not required to shake any other colour or the photo black ink cartridge. Also, do not shake the cartridges after opening otherwise they can leak. - Take off the new cartridge from the package and remove the lid from the base of the cartridge.
- Open the scanner unit. The Epson XP-615 ink cartridge is now in the replacement position.
Caution: Restrict touching the white flat cable which is connected to the ink cartridge holder. - Press the flap to free ink cartridge from the holder then detach the cartridge diagonally.
- Place the new ink cartridge by slightly pushing them in the cartridge holder and gently press it down until it clicks into its place.
- Now close the scanner unit once you are done replacing all the Epson XP-615 ink cartridges.
- The product starts the priming process, this might take a few minutes. Follow the instructions displayed on the LCD screen. When you see a completion message, ink replacement is completed.
How to fix the issue if the system is showing an error message?
If the system is showing an error message after the replacement of an Epson XP-615 ink cartridge, go through the following steps:
- The print head must be placed in the ink cartridge replacement position.
Note: If the print head is not placed in the correct position, follow the instructions on replacing an ink cartridge to move it. - Detach and again insert the Epson XP-615 ink cartridge, to ensure that it is placed in the correct cartridge slot.
