Expert Verdict
Simple and easy-to-use printers are an ideal solution for small home installations or students or people with limited budgets. Though most of the printers are low-cost, still make themselves known by the bulk of their issues. Epson has taken a different approach with its Stylus SX235W modal. This is one of the Small-In-One range of Epson, it’s designed to fit in tighter spaces than some of its competition. This printer is decked out completely in black plastic, it surely has a smaller footprint when closed than many other printers. It is a bit bigger all around than a landscape A4 sheet but is still comparatively a good purchase. It has a dust flap at the back of the machine that raises the telescopic paper support and along with it, you have a feed tray where you can load up to 100 sheets of plain paper, or a stack of photo sheets.
At the front, the control panel moves forward and clicks into its slanted, open position. With a flip-over paper stop, Its output tray then pulls forward. It has a cheap and cheerful scanner cover that lifts to reveal a simple Contact Image Sensor (CIS) flatbed scanner. The control panel lacks an LCD, which is quite a disappointment. It has five LED indicators, including two for the wireless link, and six buttons, for power, Wi-Fi, a network status print, black and colour copies, and job cancel. As well as a USB connection port at the back of the left-hand side panel. If your router supports WPS setup, the printer can connect directly to a wireless router and doesn’t need to connect temporarily via USB. When you lift the main scanner section you'll see four Epson Stylus SX235W Ink Cartridges clipped into the permanent printhead swing into view. We don't understand why Epson needs quite so many different Epson Stylus SX235W Ink Cartridges when they all appear to deliver very similar amounts of ink in similar form factors, though you can use the multiple ones, depending on the yield and price you want.
Though this is a budget printer, Epson includes a copy of Abbyy FinerReader OCR as well as its own utility and driver software in this limite price range, which is a plus point. Also, It supports Windows and OS X and there’s a Linux driver available, as well. Coming to speeds, Epson claims speeds of 30ppm for black print and 15ppm for colour Epson Stylus SX235W Ink Cartridges with the Stylus SX235W. However, In our testing, we saw a draft black text speed of 7.7ppm, the fastest available from the machine. The text and colour graphics print is slower. There is no memory card slot on the machine, for direct printing. A single page colour copy from the flatbed can take more time than you expected. The speed of the printer is not at all impressive, even compared with all-in-ones in the same budget market, but for home use some people will be able to live with them.
Though character shape is sometimes damaged by jagged edges and slight misalignment may occur, print quality is okay, thanks to the T1295 Epson Stylus SX235W Ink Cartridges. With bright, attention-grabbing colours, the colour prints on plain paper are good. Also you would notice banding or blotchiness with excellent registration of black text over colour backgrounds. Although this machine isn’t designed as a photo printer, the photo prints are excellent, with natural colours and enough detailing. Using the more economical set Epson Stylus SX235W Ink Cartridges try to offer a minimum cost of running. The black cost is good for this range of machine, though the colour Epson Stylus SX235W Ink Cartridges costs are a bit high.
Review
Epson Stylus SX235W is one of the most affordable all-in-one printers in the range of basic home printers. The printer is good value for money for its actual cost as well as for the running cost.
Along with the basic printing, copying, and scanning features, Stylus SX235W offers a wireless and USB interface too. The printer is also compatible with Epson’s iPrint system, which lets you print directly from your phone or tablet using the free iPrint app.
The printer is called a “Small in One” printer because of its much smaller size and lightweight. However, its small size does not stop it from providing you with a good paper storage space (holds up to 100 sheets). The navigation buttons are easy to use.
The printer has separate ink slots, so you can replace individual colour cartridge instead of buying all colour cartridges again.

Just like all other Epson printers, the Epson SX-235W printer serves as a low budget and useful solution to your printing and scanning requirements. However, the most common problem that arises in the case of printers is installation or changing of ink cartridges.
You will get a set of Epson SX-235W ink cartridges along with the printer. Cartridge installation is one of the important processes for a proper working of the printer. If you have just bought an Epson SX-235W printer and need to know how to install the ink cartridges, then follow these steps:
Step One: Setting Up The Device- Once you have taken out the device from the package, place it where you require it , lower the output tray and the open the top cover
- Connect the power cable to the back of the printer and turn it on. You will see a green light turn on and the print heads will move to the replacement position. In case they do not move then press the “Red Ink” button
- Lift up the cartridge clamp
- Take out the Epson SX-235W ink cartridges from the box. Before you take it out from the plastic packet, shake it four to five times. This will give you better prints eventually. Now remove the cartridges from the packet making sure that you do not touch the green coloured chip that is on the side of the cartridge
- Remove the yellow take present on the side of the cartridge. If you do not do this then the print quality will not be good or you may not be able to print at all
- There is a transparent seal present at the bottom of the ink cartridge. Removing this may lead to leakage of the ink
- Once you have followed the above two steps, the ink cartridges are now ready to be placed into the printer. Now carefully place the ink cartridge in the holder. Remember, the coloured section of the cartridge is the top and the section with the transparent seal is the bottom
- Push the cartridge slightly, you will hear a click. The cartridge is now fixed into place. Repeat both the above steps for each colour cartridge until you have put all the 4 o 6 cartridges
- Close the cartridge clamp until it clicks into place. In case there is difficulty in closing the clamp, check whether all the cartridges are placed properly
- Close the top cover of the printer. Now press the ink or start button. The printer ink system will charge for about three minutes
- Now your printer is ready to use. You can print now
- For best results always use the Epson SX-235W ink cartridges
