The PIXMA TS5050 printer is Canon’s latest addition to its home colour MFP range printers. The curved edges, high capacity Canon Pixma TS5050 Ink Cartridges and stylish squat design make it look more like a fancy audio-visual modal than something as mundane as a multifunction peripheral but it actually is an MFP. This printer can print, scan and copy. Also, you can connect to and share it across your home Wi-Fi network. We are glad to see that Canon has made the TS5050 series less fiddly to use than previous generations. The combination of a colour 3 inch LCD and redesigned controls are an improvement we were looking for and we found it in this machine. Moreover, Canon has finally dropped its hassled mix of separate selection buttons and direction rocker. Instead, in their place, Canon has used simple cursor keys with a button in the centre to confirm your choices. And, the new menu system is introduced, making it much easier to navigate. Purposely built for creative home use, The PIXMA TS5050 has an SD card slot that allows you to print photos directly from your memory card. Besides, you can use Canon's Android or iOS apps to print wirelessly from your smart devices (tablet or phone).
The Pixma TS5050 has a similar 100-sheet rear paper feed and front output tray as the other ones. You may face trouble with the feed slot cover, which you have to close manually after re-stocking with paper. Sometimes it can be easy to forget and sometimes needs wiggling before the printer would detect it. Another minor downside is the lack of automatic double-sided (duplex) printing as at this price other printers include this feature. But we can not deny that Canon has levelled up its five Canon Pixma TS5050 Ink Cartridges system, having both a pigment-based black for bold text on plain paper and a dye black ink for better contrast in photos. This Multifunctional peripheral is an ample machine, managing to deliver black text at 12.3 pages per minute in our 25-page test. When we switched it to draft mode, it lightened the result and saved ink from the Canon Pixma TS5050 Ink Cartridges. However, there was no other noticeable drop off in quality and no improvement in speed. The Canon Pixma TS5050 Ink Cartridges produced colour graphics at a fairly rapid speed in draft mode with only a slight loss of quality. While connected via USB, the scan times are quite quick at anything up to 1,200 dots per inch, capturing a postcard photo at this depth took a minute and a half. However, the photocopying was slightly slower than you would expect, but, with a single A4 copy it could take 20 seconds in black and 21 seconds in colour.
No doubt that the printed results from the Canon Pixma TS5050 Ink Cartridges are very good, showing a particularly sharp focus and a high dynamic range that preserved both very light and very dark shade detail. Canon usually fits good scanners to its MFPs. Both colour and monochrome copies can be a shade too dark by default, but they will do for most purposes. Regardless of the source, print quality is uniformly excellent. Thanks to Canon Pixma TS5050 Ink Cartridges, the copied texts are dark and undoubtedly crisp, while photos are sharp and detailed, however, with a slightly warm tone that might not please perfectionists. Also if you are one of those looking for perfect prints, you may require to do a little tweaking in photoshop to get things looking just fine. With good appearance and often brilliant performance, the PIXMA TS5050 is a great MFP for the home users. If you can forget the lack of duplex printing, then this is a talented MFP that’s worthy of a space on your desk.

What are the steps for replacing Canon Pixma TS5050 ink cartridges?
When remaining ink cautions or messages appear on the LCD screen to inform about the error. In this state, the printer will not able to print or scan. Take that appropriate action accordingly:
Step 1. Turn on the power.
Step 2. Open the scanning unit. Move the printhead holder to the replacement position. Make sure that you do not touch the print head holder until it stops completely.
Step 3. Remove the Canon Pixma TS5050 ink cartridges with the lamp flashing fast. Push the tab and lift the ink tank to remove it.
Important- Do not touch other parts besides the ink cartridges.
- Handle them carefully to avoid staining of clothing or on the surrounding area.
- Dispose off the empty ink cartridges at a proper place.
Note: Do not remove two or more ink cartridges at the same time. Be sure to replace the cartridges one by one while carrying out the replacement procedure.
Step 4. Take a new cartridge out of its package, remove the orange tape completely, then remove the protective film present inside it completely.
Important
- Handle the Canon Pixma TS5050 ink cartridges carefully. Do not apply excessive pressure to it.
- If the orange tape remains, ink might splash and the printer will not able to print properly.
Step 5. Hold the cartridge with the orange protective cap pointing up in the direction while being careful not to block the Y-shape air hole.
Step 6. Lift the tab on the orange protective cap to remove it off gently.
Important- Ensure to not push the sides of the cartridges. If you push the sides, an ink may splash.
- Make sure to not touch inside the orange protective cap. The ink may stain.
Step 7. Insert the front end of the ink tank into the print head at a slant. Ensure that the position of the Canon Pixma TS5050 ink cartridges matches the label.
Step 8. Press on the top of the cartridges until it snaps firmly into place. Make sure that the ink lamp lights up.
Important: You might not able to print if the cartridges are installed in the wrong position. Be sure to install all the cartridges in the correct position.
Step 9. Close the scanning unit cover firmly. Select OK if a message is displayed on the LCD.
Once you start printing after replacing the cartridges, the printer will start cleaning the print head automatically. Do not perform any other operations until the printer completes the cleaning process.
