There can be so many reasons which cause low print-quality as dots and repeating marks on the printouts. An unclean drum unit can be the main reason for the problems regarding print-quality. Go through the following steps to clean the drum unit.

Clean the drum unit:

• First of all, make sure to turn off the power of the machine.
• Open the front cover of the printer to remove the Brother toner cartridge.
• Push the green lock lever and take out the toner cartridge of the drum unit.
• Turn the drum unit until its gear comes on the left side.
• Check the suspected area by turning the edge of the drum unit.
• Wipe the surface with the dry cotton swab to clean the marks on it.
