How to overcome poor print quality issue of Epson XP-760 printer?

Various printing issues like blurry prints, banding, missing colours, faded colours etc. may occur if your printhead nozzles are clogged or Epson XP-760 ink cartridges have dried out. To resolve such issues follow the steps below:

Step 1:

Run the nozzle check and then clean the printhead if any of the print head nozzles are clogged.

Step 2:

Align the print head.

Step 3:

Do not print on paper that is damp, damaged, or too old. Always prefer to use good quality paper supported by this printer.

Step 4:

When printing images or photos, print using high-resolution data. Images on websites are often low resolution although they look good enough on the display, and so print quality may decline.

Step 5:

Select the appropriate paper type setting on the control panel or in the printer driver for the type of paper loaded in the printer.

Step 6:

Print using a high quality setting on the control panel or in the printer driver.

Step 7:

When printing on a disc, adjust the level of density on the control panel or in Epson Print CD.

Step 8:

When images or photos are printed in unexpected colours, adjust the colour and then print again. The automatic colour correction feature uses the standard correction mode in PhotoEnhance. Try another correction mode in Photo Enhance by selecting an option other than Auto Correct (or Automatic) as the Scene Correction (or Scene Detection ) setting. If the problem continues, use any other colour correction feature other than PhotoEnhance.

Step 9:

Disable the bidirectional (or high speed) setting. When this setting is enabled, the print head prints while moving in both directions, and vertical lines may be misaligned. If you disable this feature, printing may slow down.

  • Control Panel
In the print settings for Print Photos mode, disable Bidirectional.
  • Windows
Clear High Speed on the printer driver's More Options tab.
  • Mac OS X
Select System Preferences from the menu, then select Printers & Scanners (or Print & Scan , Print & Fax), and then select the printer. Click Options & Supplies and then Options (or Driver). Select Off as the High Speed Printing setting.
Step 10:

Do not stack the paper immediately after printing.

Step 11:

Dry the printouts completely before filing or displaying them. When doing so, avoid direct sunlight, neither use a dryer, nor touch the printed side of paper.

Step 12:

Try to use high-quality Epson XP-760 ink cartridges. This product is designed to adjust colours based on the use of good-quality cartridges. The use of low-quality ink cartridges may decline the print quality.

Step 13:

Epson recommends using the ink cartridge before the date printed on the package. For best results, use up Epson XP-760 ink cartridges within six months of opening the package.

Step 14:

When printing images or photos, Epson recommends using high-quality Epson paper rather than plain paper.

Epson XP-760 Questions:

Q. Are these high capacity ink cartridges? Do they also have better ink volumes?
A.
Yes, these are high capacity ink cartridges. They will help you cut printing costs considerably and last very long on account of exceptional ink volumes.

Q. I recently bought Epson XP-760 ink cartridges in my Epson XP-760 printer. Will the colours I see on screen be the same in my printouts?
A.
No, the colours in printouts cannot match the colours you see on your monitor accurately as such. There will always be colour variations in different degrees in your hard copy.

Q. I need to print a lot of photos for my projects. Will Epson XP-760 ink cartridges be suitable for me? I’m planning to try out these ink cartridges next. Please advise.
A.
Yes, these Epson XP-760 ink cartridges are known to do an excellent job of printing colourful images. Your printouts will turn out great with vivid colours should you opt for them.

Q. I want to print official documents only in black on my Epson XP-760 printer. Could you please tell me how I can select the ‘Black Ink Only’ over there? I’m using Mac OS X.
A.
Please do the following to make the desired changes:

  • Open the application you want to use and then click File after that, Print.
  • Enter the third pull-down menu (it must be Copies & Pages) and go on Print Settings.
  • You will be given the option to select either Black or Color. Click on the Color pull-down menu and after that, click on Black, check the other settings suitable for your document, and then print.
You can save these settings by creating a 'Preset', selecting 'Save As' from the Presets list and entering a name for your Preset. It will get your printer ready to start printing in black if you select this Preset each time.
