If you are running out of the ink or Epson XP-720 ink cartridges level is low then it can cause various print quality issues like faded or dimmed prints, prints with missing colours, etc. So, follow the steps below to check the approximate ink level of the cartridges on a regular basis.
Check the ink level - Control Panel:- Go to the setup menu from the home screen.
- Click the ink level to get the ink estimation.
- Open the printer driver window.
- Click on the maintenance tab and choose the option Epson Status Monitor 3.
Note: To monitor printer details or to get the information about consumption of Epson XP-720 ink cartridges, make sure Epson Status Monitor 3 is enabled. If it is disabled then go to the extended settings on the maintenance tab and select enable Epson Status Monitor 3.
How to preserve the black Ink when it is running low?
If the black ink is running low and you have other colour ink remaining then, you can use a mixture of colour inks to create black to continue with the printing.
To use this feature make sure you select the following settings in the printer driver.
Step 1. Select paper type as plain paper.
Step 2. Quality should be standard.
Step 3. Enable the Epson Status Monitor 3 feature, a dialogue box will appear. Choose the option as per your need
- Select “Yes” to use the mixture of colour inks to make the black ink. This window will appear the next time when you print the same job.
- Choose “No” to continue with the remaining black ink and not to use colour ink to conserve the blank.
- Select Disable this feature to currently disable the feature. The message will not be displayed until the black Epson XP-720 ink cartridge is replaced and runs low again.
