How-to Guide to Refill the Ink Cartridges
If you are wondering how to use the refilling kit there are 7 important steps in the refilling process.
For example if one had alot of printing like overdue reports for school, office and suddenly the printer is running low on ink. it is always good practice to store an extra set of HP 364 ink cartridges. Heavy users could also consider the refill kit, which allows quick refill.
Fan's of DIY hacks can try refilling the compatible HP 364 ink cartridges at home. There are several companies that make the refill kits online.
Follow the instruction below to refill:
Step 1: Before starting, clean the surface where you will be working and cover it with Saran wrap to protect it. Put on some disposable gloves to protect your hands from the ink.
Step 2: Fill the syringe with the required amount of the ink.
Step 3: Pick the empty cartridge with its outlet nozzle at the top and cover the vent hole at the bottom with one finger.
Step 4: Drip an ink slowly into the outlet nozzle and wait every time for the sponge to absorb the ink completely. Make sure to keep the vent hole closed with the finger to prevent the ink discharge from there.
Step 5: Once the HP 364 ink cartridge from is full, wipe clean with paper or cloth.
Step 6: Leaving the cartridges overnight is recommended so the ink is absorb properly.
Step 7: Place these cartridges in the printer and run a cleaning cycle to ensure the print heads are clean and ink is flowing evenly.
Note: As you can not reset the cartridge chip it is possible after refilling your printer’s control panel continue's to display the ‘low ink’ message. Ignore such warnings by clicking on "OK," continuing with the print job as normal.
Installation
Things to keep in mind before replacing the HP 364 ink cartridges for consistent printing performance:
- Before removing the old ink cartridge ensure the new ink cartridges are ready for installation.
- Keep all the ink cartridges in their original packaging unless a replacement is required.
- Do not replace the cartridge until you need it.
- If you clean the printhead unnecessary, this wastes the ink and shortens cartridge life.
- Do not drop the cartridge while installation.
- If you are transporting the printer, make sure it is not be placed on its side, back, front or top.
Now follow these steps for the cartridge replacement:
- Turn on your printer.
- Open the access box of ink cartridges.
(Warning - Before starting the replacement process, wait until the print cartridge stops moving in the printer.)- For releasing the cartridge, press the tab and remove it from the slot.
- Unpack the new ink cartridge.
(Note - Make sure you remove the orange pull-tab completely and the label is slightly torn before you remove the orange cap in the next step, or ink can leak.)
- Now turn the orange cap to snap it off.
- Insert the ink cartridge into the suitable slot as per the colour and wait till clicks into the place.
- Make sure you are sliding the correct ink cartridge into the correct colour slot.
- Close the ink cartridge access door.
