Replacement instructions for HP 201X Toner Cartridges

When HP CF400 series toner cartridge approaches the end of useful life the printer will prompt the user to order a replacement. Continue printing with the current cartridge until redistributing the toner no longer yields acceptable print quality.

• Open the HP CF400X series toner cartridge door and remove the toner cartridge
• Remove the new toner cartridge from the bag. Place the used one in the bag for recycling
• Grasp both the sides of the HP CF400X series toner cartridge and distribute the toner equally by gently rocking the cartridge
  CAUTION: Make sure to not touch the shutter or the surface of the roller.
• Bend the tab on the left side of the cartridge until the tab breaks loose. Pull the tab until all the tape has been removed from the cartridge. Place the tab and tape in the toner cartridge box to send it for recycling
• Align the toner cartridge properly inside the product, insert it until firmly seated, and then close the toner cartridge door
• After installation is complete. Place the used toner cartridge in the box in which the new cartridge arrived. See the enclosed recycling guide for the recycling instructions.

Print when HP CF400X/ CF401X/ CF402X/ CF403X toner cartridges are at its estimated end of life:

Black Low:

The product indicates this message when a toner cartridge level is low. Consider having a replacement available to install when print quality is no longer acceptable. The toner cartridge does not need to be replaced now.

Black Very Low:

When the toner cartridge level is very low. Once an HP CF400 series toner cartridge has reached in its very low state the Premium Protection Warranty on that toner cartridge has ended. You must change the way the product reacts when it reaches very low state. You do not have to re-establish the settings when you install a new toner cartridge.
