How to resolve the error message ‘Drum Ends Soon’ while using the Brother MFC-L6800DWT toner cartridges?
The message Drum End Soon specifies that the drum unit needs to be replaced soon.
Printing can be continued even when the LCD or the status monitor displays the message Drum End Soon. The drum unit can be replaced when the print quality is no longer acceptable or when the message Replace Drum is displayed.
Replace the drum unit- Make sure to turn on the machine and then open the front cover.
- Take the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly out the machine.
- Take the toner cartridge out of the machine by pushing down the green lock lever.
- Take all the cartridges out of the drum unit.
- Unpack the new drum unit.
- Put the toner cartridge back into the new drum unit, slide the cartridge inside it until it locks into place.
- Repeat the above step for all the Brother MFC-L6800DWT toner cartridges.
- Make sure to put all the cartridges correctly otherwise they may separate from the drum unit. (Note: If you put the cartridge properly, the lock lever on the drum unit will automatically lift.)
- Clean the corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the tab from left to right and vice versa several times. Make sure to return the tab to its Home position.
