The Pixma iP1900 is a highly affordable inkjet printer, aimed at very small offices and the home and student market. It also incorporates some features from higher end machines and shows good results for such a reasonably priced machine.
The maximum printing resolution of the printer is 4800 x 1200 dpi, which churns out really nice and good printouts. The text printouts are crisp and clear, while the coloured ones are also of a good quality when one takes the printer’s price into considerations. Surprisingly for a printer with such low price, image prints are also good. The credit of this goes to a large extent to the 2 Canon Pixma iP1900 Ink Cartridges. The print speed at 21 ppm for monochrome and 17 ppm for colour is fast and reasonable for its price and usage.
The Canon Pixma iP1900 comes with a 100 paper input tray, and connectivity is by USB. While a WiFi feature would be useful and convenient, given that most buyers will be single machine users, the lack of WiFi is not a deterrent. Another good part about this printer is the software bundle it comes standard with. Other than the usual drivers, there are image editing and noise reduction software helping get better results from the printer. Some of these are available in much costlier machines and having those in Canon Pixma iP1900 makes the price more enticing.
This is a very light and compact, which can be easily carried too. At 3.3 kg of weight, it is a light weight with heavyweight performance. The compact dimensions also mean that the printer can be part of small computer table, be it at home or single person offices. The included 2 Canon Pixma iP1900 Ink Cartridges are on each for black and colour. The cost of operations is low compared to some competitors in this price range.
