The Canon Pixma MP460 is an updated version of Canon Pixma MP450. The upgrade of this photo-centric printer did not increase the cost side. Even many of the features remain same in this upgrade, but Canon enhanced its performance with advanced features like new dual colour gamut technology and direct printing. The printer uses black and tri-colour Canon PIXMA MP460 ink cartridges. Plus, it boasts a colour bubble jet technology as its printing method.
The printer has a sleek, slanted design featuring rounded corners and a space-saving low profile. The control panel of the device is located as a thick rounded plate coming out from the top front. It contains a small colour LCD display along with an array of navigation and function buttons.
The device weighs 15.7kg and measures 17.5 x 16.5 x 7.3 inches. It has a 48-bit CIS scanner on the top. The flatbed copier of the machine is integrated with auto exposure, borderless, and image repeat features. Other advanced features of the device include media card slots, PictBridge, and IrDA 1.2 port for wireless printing.
The printing speed of the device ranges from 22 ppm for monochrome to 17 ppm for colour files. Which makes it a fast all-in-one printer in compare to the other entry level MFPs in the market. All in all, the device is a great pick at this price range, except for its tri-colour Canon Pixma MP460 ink cartridges which increase the running cost of the printer.
