How to reset the toner level after refilling HP Laserjet P2050 toner cartridges in HP Laserjet printer?
To reset toner cartridge for your printer machine, follow these steps below:
- Place the filled-up cartridge into your printer.
- To identify the cartridge, print an alignment page. The printer will now read the ink level where it had been before refilling.
- Remove the previously installed toner cartridge from the printer and install a brand new. Let the HP printer print an alignment page again so it identifies the cartridge as a different cartridge from the first one.
- Replace the second toner cartridge from the third one. When replacement is done, run the similar alignment page.
- The printer machine stores the memory of two print cartridges. Consequently, it’ll erase the memory of the primary (refilled) HP Laserjet P2050 toner cartridge.
- Install the refilled toner cartridge into your printer. The HP printer will now automatically detect the cartridge as full.
- Strip over the contact squares on the top left corner of the cartridge contacts. Put the cartridge into the printer and run print an alignment page. Ignore if any message that might appear and try to communicate there is a problem with the cartridge.
- Take the toner cartridge out of the printer. From the left corner remove the tape and put the tape over the contact squares on the top right corner again.
- Fix the cartridge back into its proper position and run another alignment page.
- Remove and reinsert the toner cartridge (make sure that there is no tape on any of the contacts, it should clear and unpacked). Check if the printer identifies the cartridge as full.
- If the cartridge is still showing empty indication, repeat the above steps. For this time, use the bottom corner contact squares instead of the top ones.
- If you are still unable to reset the cartridges, the only way to do it is using appropriate HP Laserjet P2050 toner cartridge.
