Step1: Make sure that the power is turned on, and then gently open the paper output tray.

Step2: Lift the scanning unit (Cover) firmly until it stops. The print head holder moves to the replacement position.

Step3: Replace the Canon Pixma MP980 Ink Cartridges with the lamp flashing fast.

• Push the tab and lift the ink tank to remove it
• Do not touch the print head lock lever while replacing ink tanks

Note: Do not remove two or more ink tanks at the same time. Be sure to replace ink tanks one by one. For more details on ink lamp flashing speed refer user manual.

Step4: Prepare the new ink tank.

• Take the new ink tank out of its package, pull the orange protective tape in the direction of the arrow to peel it off, then remove the film
• Hold the orange protective cap gently, then twist and remove it from the bottom of the ink tank.
  • Remove the protective cap while holding it in a way to prevent the ink from staining your fingers
  • Discard the protective cap once it is removed

Step5: Install the new Canon Pixma MP980 Ink Cartridges.

• Insert the front end of ink tank into the Printhead at a slant and make sure that the position of the tank matches the label
• Press the mark (Push) on the ink tank until the ink tank snaps firmly into the place. Make sure that the ink lamp lights up red

Step6: Close the Scanning Unit (Cover) gently.
Caution: Make sure to hold the scanning unit (Cover) firmly using both hands, and be careful not to get your fingers caught
