Why does the printer sound like it is printing but the printed page appears blank?
The Epson Stylus SX210 printer is a multifunctional printer that offers some good features. It is a budget printer and uses Epson Stylus SX210 ink cartridges as consumables. The printer works great for small offices and home users.
The printer offers a good print quality. But there are times when you experience print quality issues like banding, faded prints or blank printouts. The printer will seem to work but there will be no prints on the paper. There might be many reasons for this and the printing defect can be easily be corrected. Most of the causes may be directly or indirectly linked to the ink cartridges. The company recommends the use of premium quality Epson Stylus SX210 ink cartridges only. There is no guarantee of the print quality taken by the company in case you use any other ink cartridge.
There are 3 main causes of no print on the paper even when it seems that the printer sounds like it is printing. To check these and correct the defect, follow the steps below:
- The most common cause of blank printouts may be clogged print head nozzles. Go to the Utility section in the Epson printer driver and select the option of head cleaning. This will initiate a print head cleaning cycle. The printer will intimate you when the cycle is over. Take a nozzle check pattern test print. If the pattern test print shows gaps then there is a problem with the ink cartridge of that particular colour. It may be that the print head nozzle is still not completely cleaned. You need to run the cleaning cycle again followed by nozzle check pattern test print.
- If the nozzle check print still shows gaps after three to four cleaning cycles, then turn the printer on and leave it like this overnight. This will help loosen the clogged ink in the nozzles. Run a cleaning cycle in the morning followed by the nozzle check pattern test print.
- If you are still experiencing the problem, replace the old Epson Stylus SX210 ink cartridges with new ones.
